Teaching and Learning
Opportunities to influence the education of health care providers and students in Canada and internationally.
- Provide teaching and learning opportunities, locally and internationally; including an Education Exchange for students and professional care providers in the rehabilitation sector.
- Improve the skills and insight of students in the Rehabilitation Sector with regards to performing their roles in communities in Kenya in relation to persons with disabilities.
- Contribute to the professional programs of the Kenyan rehabilitation sector by increasing awareness of international health and multi-cultural issues.
- Empower the disabled persons with the skills that are relevant to their challenges.
Research and Evaluation
Contributing to new knowledge with respect to international rehabilitation and disability issues.
- Research in the area of effectiveness of intervention programs and emerging roles in the treatment of disabled persons.
- Evaluate international programs and teaching projects.
- Expand and create new research initiatives.
Service, Networking and Community Involvement
Develop a community structure for delivering efficient and effective services to disabled persons.
- Provide opportunities for professionals, agencies, students and the community to engage one another with respect to issues of rehabilitation.
- Facilitate networking among disciplines, academic programs interested in rehabilitation in Kenya.
- Education and sensitization of Kenyan communities on present and potential needs of people living with disabilities.
